There are days when I think I’ve got this parenting thing down. Then not 5 minutes later, boom. I feel like the worst parent in the world.
But we do have a tool to use in the good, and the bad, of parenting.
Here are 5 verses to pray for your children in the good times (and the bad!)
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
Pray: Lord, be with my children daily. Shine brightly upon them and keep them.
“Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.”
Pray: Father, guide my children and help them understand our instruction and teaching in their lives. Help them keep our teaching in their hearts and seek continually after You.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Pray: Lord, reveal your plans for our children to them. Give them guidance and know your will is to give them hope and a future.
“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”
Pray: God, help us as parents to train our children up in your ways. Plant our teachings in their hearts so they may grow with You.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Pray: God, thank you for creating us to do your good works. Give our children a heart for you and help them to know they are your handiwork.
Keep these verses on your heart and in your mind. Training up these kiddos God has blessed us with is no easy task. But with His help and guidance, we can have faith in His provision for our children.
