On this Motivational Monday, it's the start of the week and you may have already started thinking yesterday:
"What on earth am I going to wear this week?"
"Goodness, I need a haircut and a makeover!"
"Wow, I'm getting old..."
"This baby pooch makes me look fat."
"This sleepless night thing is making me look like death every morning!"
And probably many more...
But you know what mama?
God feels SO much differently about you. Proverbs 31:30 says "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." (NIV).
How much differently can our days/weeks/months/years go if we looked at ourselves through the lens of our Father? We worry so much about our physical appearance, but a fearing woman of God is so beautiful and honored.
We always hear about the Proverbs 31 woman that I think we forget how powerful the chapter really is. She is our example. She can do all these things, but it is her roots in the Lord that earn her the most praise and honor.
Choose the Savior, choose to look at yourself through His eyes, choose to focus on your inner beauty instead of the world's standards of outer beauty.
There's nothing wrong with keeping yourself presentable, but the focus and worry over how you look, what clothes you are wearing, what kind of jewelry you own should have no effect.
Charm, beauty, etc, can all become idols that keep us from our Savior. Instead, focus on God and where He is leading you in your ministry for His kingdom!
On this Monday, choose Him
Choose to rejoice in the fact that even in our faults and sins, there is One who loves you and cares for you. Take that with you through this week and pray for God to show you your path away from your worldly desires.
