My 5 Favorite Non-Toxic Cleaning Supplies

Now days, tons of people are switching to non-toxic cleaning supplies. There are so many brands out there and sometimes it can be hard to find what you like and what works for your family.
Other times, you want to make a change, but don't even know where to begin! To give you a little help, here are my top 5 favorite non-toxic cleaning supplies I use for our family!
Y'all, I'm not going to lie. I live with 3 stinky boys and laundry time can be smelly. When we moved last year, the house we bought is apart of a MUD district and our water is the hardest I have ever encountered. Which sometimes DOES NOT help getting the stinky out of the boys clothes.
I have used SOOO many detergents since we moved in. A big problem we have as well is that 2 of the 3 boys have incredibly sensitive skin, so my options are very limited on what I can use for them.
Enter UPP. Such a laundry life saver! Just a half a scoop on most loads gets all the stinky out! Even on clothes and towels I was pretty sure I was going to have to throw away. I have a bag of UPP my SIL sent me after Hurricane Harvey that I opened in September. It's now January and I still have about 1/4 of a bag left. People are intimidated by the price of UPP. I do, on average, 7-8 loads of laundry a week so I'd say that's an awesome deal. Even with how much I have to use with our hard water!
The UPP is also very versatile. I've used it along with their EnviroCloth to get crayon off my wall and a mishap with permanent marker and a toddler off the tile. Just a wet cloth and a dab into the UPP detergent and it's all clean. The microsilver in the cloths also make it the winner in my book.
I have heard amazing things about the cleaning paste, so that will probably be my next purchase when I get more UPP. I have a section of tile grout a cute little toddler used a purple marker to color on that needs some attention and I'm confident this will help get it out!
Now I know some of you really want to use Norwex, but are hesitant because of the price tag. While I think they are a super product (which is why they are #1 on my list!) and a great investment for your non-toxic cleaning stash, I do understand financial tightness. Which leads me to my next favorite non-toxic product...
Then one fateful day at our local grocery store, I was walking past their clearance section. When I looked over, the E-Cloth Home Cleaning 8pc Set was sitting there for $12.99! Stop. Seriously? I had to do a double check.
The Home Cleaning Set retails for $39.99 and it was $27 off. You'd better believe I threw that baby in the basket as quickly as I could! The set includes a Kitchen Cloth with corner scrubber, Glass and Polishing Cloths, Bathroom Cloth, Window Cloth, Dusting Cloth, Stainless Steel Cloth, and a Range and Stovetop Cloth. Pretty much everything you need to clean your whole house!
They're easy to use, easy to clean, and each cloth has a tag on it to tell you which cloth it is. The box also comes with a handy list of each cloth and how to use/care for them. I do prefer some Norwex products over E-Cloth. My E-Cloth cloths definitely seem wear out faster than Norwex in my opinion and do not contain the microsilver that Norwex does. But they are still an awesome choice and I LOVE my Home Cleaning Set from them and use it every day!
I heart vinegar that I literally buy it by the gallon full! I use it in so many ways around the house it's not even funny. In the laundry room is where I probably use it the most. With our hard water, I wash the clothes with Norwex UPP and then use the vinegar as a fabric softener. I've also soaked stained clothes with vinegar and Norwex's UPP detergent with amazing results!
Vinegar is also an amazing glass cleaner. I take a general purpose empty spray bottle like this one and fill half with vinegar and half with water. Spray on glass and then wipe off with a paper towel or newspaper for a lint free, streak free clean!
Some people really don't like the smell of vinegar. You can use a glass spray bottle like this one for your mixture and add a few drops of your favorite essential oil. I like putting Lemon, Orange or Lavender in mine!
Baking soda is another favorite in my house. I have used it for multiple cleaning purposes, but it is my absolute go to when cleaning a super dirty pot or pan.
We currently don't have a dishwasher in our house (which I hope will change over the next year!), so finding ways to help me clean in the kitchen are of the utmost importance. I like to take baking soda with these awesome Scrub Mommy sponges my MIL got me for Christmas to get out the toughest stains and baked on food with ease!
Baking soda along with a few drops of essential oils makes an awesome carpet deodorizer! You can use an empty Parmesan shaker, fill with baking soda and I add about 10 drops of essential oil to it. Shake it up, spread lightly over your carpet, let sit for about 15-20 minutes and vacuum up. I love it!
My top favorite oils for cleaning purposes are Lemon, Sweet Orange, Tea Tree, Peppermint and Lavender. I like to make a room spray with a small glass spray bottle. I put about 10 drops of Lavender in it and fill with water. Give it a good shake and spray just a spray or 2 in the room for a fresh floral scent.
