The One Thing That Kills Your Productivity as a SAHM

Don't we all need a little help with productivity? I'll be the first to raise my hand to that! Some days, I look back at what I've accomplished that day and come up with little. Why? Well, I had a lazy day, or a rough mommy day, or just got caught up in other things that ruined any ounce of productivity I could have had that day.
So what's the answer?
Good question. I think it varies from mom to mom, but usually we have SOMETHING that always holds us back. I think that something for a lot of us is....
Yes, motivation. Because as moms, we are perpetually tired. And sometimes we use that tiredness as an excuse day after day. Week after week. Year after year. Until we've made that excuse for so long that it's just a part of life.
"My house is always messy, but I have kids."
"I just gave up on keeping up with the laundry after I had littles."
"I REALLY just don't have time to wash the dishes everyday or sweep the floors so much because the kids are always making a mess."
I'll go ahead and admit right here that have made every single excuse before. But guess what? Most of those days, I did actually have some time or energy to do those things. But I was lacking the motivation to do so because, yes, I was tired. One of the kids was up during the night... I was up late working on the blog and then woke up at 6:30am. And on and on and on.
Find Your Motivation and Take Your Productivity Back!
Sometimes, we just have to stop with the excuses. No, I'm not saying there aren't bad days and productivity is low. But being unmotivated every single day for some reason or another is partially just excuses on our end.
Do you long to have a mostly clean house all the time? The next time you plop on the couch to scroll through Facebook for 5 minutes (because let's face it, you're on there for like an hour instead), choose 1 room and clean it up. Set yourself a timer for however long you want to clean up and do as much as you can during that time.
In essence, whatever it is that will get you up and going and stop making excuses, do it! Find whatever motivates you and jump on it like your life depends on it!
I'll admit that I'm not perfect in this, but just the relief it brings at the end of the day for me to be able to check off my to-do list in my bullet journal is awesome. Where I literally do a quick clean of the kitchen, pick up any random toys laying around, and then can grab my computer and do work on the blog for a couple of uninterrupted hours. The accomplishment is the ultimate motivation for me to keep going.
Because at the end of the day, I feel like I did more than just keep the tiny humans alive. And it's a great feeling!
